What is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)?

Basically, there is a production house named Marvel Studios under whose banner various films were made.

There are various superheroes who are the protagonists of these movies. These heroes are – Spiderman, Hulk, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Blade, Deadpool, and others. These heroes possess various superpowers.

All these characters are created by ‘Stan Lee.’

Initially, Marvel Studios produced many stand-alone superhero movies like Spiderman, Hulk, Ghost Rider, Blade, etc. Then movies such as The Fantastic Four were also made in which a team of superheroes was shown.

Later in the year 2008, a separate branch of this production house was created which was named- “Marvel Cinematic Universe” (MCU).  

Since then the movies have been made under the banner of MCU.

The stories shown in movies produced by MCU are related to each other. They are all interconnected.

Therefore, all these movies seem to be a sequence of their predecessor movies.

The stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are centered on a fictional universe.    

Many of these superheroes work for an organization called S.H.I.E.L.D., which is an American anti-terror, an intelligence agency that maintains both national and global security. 

Phases of Marvel Cinematic Universe:

There are different phases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

All the MCU movies and web series are available on Disney+ Hotstar. 

It is important to mention here that the movies starring Spiderman are not displayed on Disney+ Hotstar.

The reason behind this is the dispute over the distribution of rights to the Spiderman character. Sony Pictures owns the rights to Spiderman. Therefore, Marvel Studios cannot show Spiderman movies on Disney+.

However, if Spider-Man is featured in multi-starrer films alongside other superheroes presented by Marvel Studios or the MCU, these remain available on Disney+.
